Penn & Teller- Fool Us is a competition for magic television show in which magicians perform tricks before American magic veteran duo Penn & Teller. The show’s initial two seasons were hosted masterfully by Jonathan Ross, and the third season onwards female host Hannigan.
Every episode begins with an introduction that explains the main purpose of the show. Penn & Teller come out and sit down at the stage. The the hopeful performers perform their acts in front of them with an audience of live viewers. After each show, Penn & Teller privately talk while the host interview the magicians. Penn & Teller then reveal their knowledge of how the trick was performed, usually using cryptic words or by recording the technique and then present it to the magicians in order to verify, so as to avoid publicly exposing the secret behind the trick.
